ELITE Award

ELITE Award1 The ELITE Award program is Valspar's oldest and most prestigious recognition award that is awarded to Valspar's top 30 most deserving employees on an annual basis. The ELITE award recognizes employees who demonstrate continual outstanding performance in doing the highest quality work over a sustained period of time.

History of the ELITE program:

  • Started in 1983
  • ELITE stands for Employee Led Improvement Toward Excellence
  • Employees are nominated, evaluated and selected by their peers, there is no management involvement.


To be nominated for an award employees must consistently meet the following criteria:

  • Exceed job expectations
  • Customer Focused
  • Improve processes with emphasis on quality and speed
  • Effectively support co-workers and internal customers
  • Practice and promote safety
