President's Award
One of Valspar's core values is safety, and with the dedication of all Valspar employees, we are one of the safest manufacturing companies in the world. In 2008, we achieved a world-class safety record of 1.03 recordable incidents for every 200,000 hours worked, a rate more than four times better than the average for the paints and coatings industry.
Environmental stewardship is another key operating principle at Valspar. We're mindful of how we operate our facilities, working to protect the environment by monitoring and reducing our emissions, minimizing waste and promoting recycling. We're committed to making environmental improvements to our materials and processes, and to developing products that minimize environmental impact.

This is one of the company's greatest success stories.
