McCausland Steps Down From Valspar Board

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., July 27, 2007 - The Valspar Corporation (NYSE-VAL) announced today that Peter McCausland resigned from the Board of Directors effective July 26, citing increasing business and personal commitments. He was a member of the compensation and governance committees.

McCausland is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Airgas, Inc., of Radnor, Pa., and a director of the International Oxygen Manufacturers Association, Inc., the Fox Chase Cancer Center, and the Independence Seaport Museum. He had been a Valspar director since April 2006.
