Overview

As the recognized leader in powder manufacturing, Valspar’s Powder Coatings division offers a full product line that provides our customers with products designed to meet their specific application needs. Valspar achieves this by offering a full line of technologies with a commitment to continued innovation along with personnel dedicated to providing quality customer service. In addition, Valspar offers a full product line of liquid and electrocoat products, that provides our customer with one supplier for all their coating needs.

Technology

Our full line of powder technologies is manufactured to deliver superior quality and application efficiency for our customers’ powder lines. The batch–to–batch consistency of our products combined with our ability to control particle size distribution ensures our customers’ coating processes will consistently deliver the appearance and performance they demand.

Along with offering a variety of product platforms, Valspar’s state of the art R&D facility allows for custom product design to meet our customers’ application needs. In addition, Valspar has a full-line of spray equipment, ovens and a conveyor system that is used to simulate our customers’ powder lines to troubleshoot issues and expedite line trial conversions allowing us to help keep our customers’ total costs to a minimum.

Valspar recognizes the importance of innovation in order to best service our customers’ needs. This dedication to improvement has resulted in Valspar providing the coatings industry with
  • Low cure chemistries for substrates that cannot withstand high heat cure temperatures
  • Reclaimable metallic powders that reduce color shifts inherent with traditional dry-blended metallic coatings
  • Bonded metallics to provide a uniform metallic appearance without reclaim issues reducing our customers’ costs
  • Thin Film HyFlowTM finishes where the coatings coverage is as low as 0.8 mils, replicating the appearance of a liquid finish, while maintaining pencil hardness with excellent stain and chemical resistance
  • High heat resistant powders that can withstand temperatures up to 1000° F

Valspar is dedicated to working closely with our customers to define requirements and provide quality service. From our technical service to our customer service group we are both responsive to customer issues and proactive in seeking opportunities to improve process efficiencies and lower our customers’ total cost.

Valspar’s technical service goes beyond providing quality lab work. We provide onsite staff to review specific customer application needs. In addition, we look at ways to improve our customers’ efficiencies such as our Powder Shuttle® delivery systems that allow for easier use and handling of our powder products while reducing our customers’ storage and handling costs.

With three manufacturing facilities in North America and one in Asia, onsite customer service centers in the US, Canada, Mexico and China, and a mobile sales force and technical service group, there is always a Valspar representative there to assist you.
